What is included in the price?

Your investment includes the physical heirloom of your choice. It includes the sitting fee for having your child's portrait taken at the Brunch, the editing of that image which is then printed on fine art paper, the mat in an oval shape if desired, the backing and a special non-glare glass. The frames are all real wood and sold through a professional framer who assembles your printed image within the frame. 

Do I have to sign up now? Do you accept walk-ins?

While we highly encourage early sign ups to make the process smoother and quicker for our families, we will accept walk-ins.  The families who preorder get to take advantage of an earlier production turnaround time (4-5 weeks)  whereas walk-in orders may take a few additional weeks for materials to be shipped in. 

What should my child wear?

A:

For a Silhouette, dress your child in a slim-fitting shirt, avoiding bulky collars and hoods. Ensure their hair is styled as you'd like it to appear, and avoid hats, bows, or headbands. Hair should be tucked behind the ear or brushed out of the face to portray an accurate profile. Eyelashes will be added complimentary.

For a Heirloom Portrait, your child will be photographed from their chest up. White smocked dresses, white peter pan collared shirts and white collared shirts photograph the best. Small stains can be retouched. Ensure your child's hair is brushed, and their face is clean. For girls, bows or headbands do photograph well in this style of portrait, but are not necessary. 

What is the best age for this?

Heirloom portraits of either style are typically taken for young children ages ~1 year - 12 years old to capture their youthful spirit. Your child must be able to sit on a stool, however a parent can place their hand behind their back for more support. Some families have portraits taken every few years as their child's features change.

When and how do I get the final Framed Portrait?

Your Heirloom Frame(s) will be ready for pickup within 4-6 weeks. You will receive an email from CCV when yours is ready to take home!  

What Hair Style and Props should I consider?

A:

For both boys and girls, hair should be clean, dry, brushed, and styled to create a polished look. For Silhouette Portraits, avoid hair accessories to keep the focus on their natural profile.

For Heirloom Portraits, simplicity is key: girls can wear a bow, headband, or small pearl necklace, while boys typically photograph without accessories. A plain white collared shirt or "peter pan" collar is timeless for either style of portrait and either gender. 

How can we pay, and do you accept our CCV Member Number?

No, we cannot accept your CCV Member number as we are a third party vendor for this event. We accept all major credit and debit cards. If you are looking to do an additional purchase on the day of the Brunch, we will have Square where you can pay via Credit Card or by written check. 

What do I do if I need to reschedule?

Reschedules will occur the following week on a weekday (exact date TBD) the following week.

Please note that all sales are final. No shows and cancellations within 24 hours will not receive a refund. Cancellations beyond 24 hours may receive a partial refund.

Where is this happening? What does Check In look like?

We will have a photography backdrop setup placed upstairs in the conference room at CCV Westhampton during their Mother's Day Brunch Event. Booking is done in advance through this website.

On the day of the Brunch, you will come upstairs at your selected time. A greeter will get you checked in, confirm the style of portrait and your selections, as well as give you a card for your child to hold with your booking name on it so that we can keep everyone's portrait organized.

Since payment is due at the time of booking your session, you simply need to show up and enjoy the experience.

What is included in the editing and retouching?

Editing a Silhouette involves refining the profile to ensure a crisp, clean outline. Hair and other small imperfections are stylized or often kept to give a realistic depiction. Small details like eyelashes are added to give the silhouette a gentle, realistic touch.

Editing an Heirloom Portrait preserves your child’s natural likeness, with minor touch-ups such as removing small stains or blemishes. Light adjustments, like subtle teeth whitening, may be made, but hair styling should be done before the session as it cannot be edited. Parents can choose between color or black-and-white prints, both featuring a soft, white oval vignette around the image from the chest up.

Can I get both an Heirloom Portrait and a Silhouette?

Of course! Simply fill out two order forms and write into the comments that you are ordering both for the same child. We can accomplish photographing both styles of heirlooms in the same sitting time. You will receive two separate frames and will need to make your selections for each frame choice.

How long will the photo session take?

Q:

A:

Assuming your child arrives ready to be photographed, 5-10 minutes should be plenty of time to capture a Silhouette or a Heirloom Portrait, or both, if selected.
